Light

The life and message of God’s love enfleshed in Jesus Christ provides the true light that gives life to the world.

Having been first loved and drawn by God through Jesus, we want to encourage followers of Jesus to share with confidence, joy, and boldness the immense and persistent love that God has for all people.

We hope to encourage this boldness through facilitating several opportunities for the entire church to share the love of God to others. “Torch Sunday” will be one such opportunity for members to express God’s love through offering prayer and a token of light for strangers they encounter that day. Our hope is that such experiences will open our eyes to various opportunities to share God’s love throughout our daily lives.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

God of this City

Meadowbrook has always been a church who strives to be the hands and feet of Jesus. The stories of our history in Jackson are full of scenes of service and love to our community. During the '09-'10 year, we want to renew that commitment to our community. We want to be a church who seeks out what God is doing in our city and joins Him in that mission. We desire to be a band of disciples who love people as much as God loves us.

On September 13, we are kicking off a campaign called "God of this City" to help frame our renewed commitment to joining in the mission of God. This focus will serve to increase our courage and faith, strengthen our prayer lives, restore relationships, embrace our creativity, and serve others. We have five teams comprised of Meadowbrook folks who are dreaming up ways we can live out this vision. They will help us join with God in His light, hope, peace, joy, and strength.

Please stay for lunch on the 13th to hear more about our hopes for the upcoming year, and learn ways you can become involved in bringing about God’s will on earth as it is in heaven.

We aren't changing the way we do church or the way we do ministry, we just want to do those things more passionately and recognize that we are merely participating in what God is already doing. We believe that greater things are yet to come, because the Great I Am is not just the God of the heavens, but He is also the God of this City.
